The Alessi Kettle with Bird Whistle Teapot, designed by Michael Graves, 1985. The Alessi 9093 has sold more units than any other item in Alessi history. It is also one of the most sought after whistling kettles in the world. The Alessi bird kettle has a personality, with its simple geometry.
The dots on the bottom are to signify heat as the kettle is placed on the stove top. The shape of the grooved handle is blue to signify it is cool to touch. And of course the bird whistles.
The 9093 was designed to boil water faster than any other stove top kettle on the market. This was accomplished by giving the water kettle a broad base that fits on the stove top which then narrows towards the top creating a very efficient kettle.

A very dark brown and almost mug shaped, this nicely designed Wind teapot has a flared finial top and handle.
Consequently, the teapot appears to be caressed by wind. The wind motif is integrated beautifully into the pot and conveys a lovely sense of movement.
Flowing lines carved into the sides complement the teapot’s other wind features. The texture is smooth. Two chops (artist’s signature) appear inside the lid and on the bottom.
The design of this teapot is quite simple and streamlined and is so imaginative.

Below its small flair the handle has a textured pattern.
In addition, a white wave-like design with four recurring dots is featured on the belly.
The Marbled Top teapot is striking in its unusual combination of detailed features.

Because of its unusual flat shape, the Frog Lid yixing teapot resembles the Heart Sutra.
The clay is red-brown. A frog poses alertly on a lily pad lid. The handle resembles a vine, even including minuscule thorns.
The vine motif continues in the spout, where the artist has carved a tendril. This teapot is about as cute as it can be.

Contemporary teapot Yixing “Red Moon” is a wide cylindrical shaped teapot in very dark brown (the body of the pot and the top) and orange red (the flat upper portion of the pot).
The teapot design is distinctive because the top is flush with the upper area of the pot and what is normally a raised finial is actually a circular indentation that permits the top to be removed.
The handle is circular. This is a lovely yixing teapot, strikingly understated with a contemporary look.

Twin Knob Yixing teapot is designed by the Red & Green Company.
Twin Knob’s handle is unusual with a San Francisco Like Vertical Handle teapot.
Two pieces of the handle intersect, with the outside piece wrapping over the inner one.
The finial’s design carries on the “twin” motif.
An unexpected feature of this chocolate brown teapot is the subtle touch of orange brown at the tips of the handle and spout. Twin Knob is at the same time a distinctive and understated Chinese teapot.
