The creator of Alhambra Blue Teapot used dark blue gray clay to explore geometrical shapes.
The teapot is a rectangular block with an angular handle. The spout is a graceful, fluid counterpoint to the angles. The finial is also a block with small raised panels that suggest a tiled effect.
The complex body of the teapot has visible depth, since it is overlaid with panels of cut out, stylized diamond shapes.

Contemporary teapot Yixing “Red Moon” is a wide cylindrical shaped teapot in very dark brown (the body of the pot and the top) and orange red (the flat upper portion of the pot).
The teapot design is distinctive because the top is flush with the upper area of the pot and what is normally a raised finial is actually a circular indentation that permits the top to be removed.
The handle is circular. This is a lovely yixing teapot, strikingly understated with a contemporary look.

Twin Knob Yixing teapot is designed by the Red & Green Company.
Twin Knob’s handle is unusual with a San Francisco Like Vertical Handle teapot.
Two pieces of the handle intersect, with the outside piece wrapping over the inner one.
The finial’s design carries on the “twin” motif.
An unexpected feature of this chocolate brown teapot is the subtle touch of orange brown at the tips of the handle and spout. Twin Knob is at the same time a distinctive and understated Chinese teapot.

Lotus Seeds & Frog Teapot

This is a most clever and unusual teapot. The finial is a life-like tan frog resting on a lily-pad but poised to jump.
The rounded rear of this bluish green teapot resembles a nut. The flat front presents an array of seed-like brown beads that move and rattle.
The spout has leaf detail, and the buckle at the top of the handle is a tiny brown bud. This extraordinary piece stands on “feet” of nuts and a vine whose tendril extends to the leafy spout. The Lotus Seeds and Frog teapot is a wonderful work of the artist’s imagination.
